InterPlay Performance Technique blends improvisational storytelling, movement and vocal play with an emphasis on solo and ensemble creation. Along with co-facilitator Coke Nakomoto, we will play with performance skills including:

  • cultivating the fullness of your voice and body to tell a story,
  • embracing your inner movement artist, whether or not you are trained in dance,
  • having more presence onstage, as an individual and as a member of a “group body,” and
  • improvising with different art forms to enliven your performance experience.

This workshop is ideal for Bay Area artists seeking a supportive community and those who are ready to take their art practice to a new level.

What builds enduring friendships? How can we connect with others more playfully? How might friends process the icky parts of relationship more joyfully?

We’ll explore these questions through InterPlay forms and mindfulness practices that enhance and deepen our connections to self and other.

Please join two childhood friends — Gretchen Wegner (InterPlay facilitator) and Sister Jewel (dharma teacher in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh) — as they explore what their very different yet surprisingly similar traditions have to say about the gifts of playing mindfully with others.

Please bring your own lunch.
